Quick Tips for Getting Started

What you actually need to know before joining a group activity

Wear what you have

Don’t buy expensive gear. Comfortable clothes you already own work fine. Most people aren’t judging your outfit.

Arrive early the first time

Show up 10 minutes before it starts. Gives you time to find the group, meet people, and feel less rushed.

Bring water and a small towel

You’ll sweat. Most groups don’t provide these, and you’ll feel better prepared if you’ve got them.

Tell someone your pace

It’s fine to say “I’m just getting back into fitness” or “I need to go slower today.” Good groups respect that.

Give it three times

First session is always awkward. By the third one you’ll know faces, understand the routine, and actually enjoy it.

Check weather the night before

Hong Kong heat and humidity are real. Rain can cancel things. One quick check saves disappointment.
